In order to encourage faculty, students, and stakeholders to hoist the Indian National Flag at their homes from August 13 to August 15, 2022, as India celebrates its independence day, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all vice-chancellors of universities and principals of colleges to spread the word about the “Har Ghar Tiranga” program. The Azadi ka Amrit Mahatsov celebrations include the Har Ghar Tiranga programme.
The UGC ordered the vice-chancellors and principals to organise “Nukkad Nataks,” “Prabhat Pheries,” presentations, and other activities in higher education institutions with a call to action on purchasing or giving a flag. These activities should take place in universities and colleges a week before “Independence Week.” According to a letter from UGC, flags can be bought or given as gifts via the website harghartiralrga.com. The “Flag Code I of India” 2002 (included), which regulates how residents use the national flag, must be obeyed, according to UGC.
Additionally, the UGC requested that educational institutions post their participant films from the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative on websites like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Additionally, it requested that by July 25, 2022, the activity plan for the events be posted on the UGC University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP).
