Through the Toyota Technical Education Program, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), and the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) will teach 18,000 students to make them more employable (T-TEP). Within three years, these pupils will receive training. Students who finish the program successfully will receive certification from Toyota, NSDC, and ASDC.

According to a statement from the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, students from rural regions will be given preference under the initiative for jobs such as general mechanic, body and paint technician, service adviser, sales consultants, and call centre employees. Approximately 56 ITI and polytechnic colleges in 21 Indian states are already affiliated with T-TEP. According to the ministry, over 10,000 students have already received training, and about 70% of them are employed by automakers.

As part of this programme, Toyota will provide the institute with the most recent curricula, e-learning materials, engines, transmissions, and practice kits while ASDC will designate the institute in accordance with the standards. Along with providing on-the-job training for the students, it will also assist skill development centres and train the institute’s teachers.

The initiative’s infrastructure development and student training will be handled by ASDC. By conducting quarterly audits, TKM, dealer partners, and ASDC will ensure the quality of the training.
