The Madhya Pradesh High Court’s order from 2017 was later postponed by the Supreme Court on Friday. The order demanded that the CBI investigate the operations of all nursing colleges in the state. A panel made up of Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice Bela M Trivedi was hearing Preston College, a nursing school with its main campus in Gwalior, appeal against the rulings of the Madhya Pradesh high court bench in Gwalior. According to an order issued on January 24, 2022, the Madhya Pradesh Nursing Council allegedly formed a committee of 10 members to inspect approximately 271 nursing institutes in the state, and the Supreme Court took note of this.
The panel rejected 201 of these institutions after looking into whether they had been legitimately granted recognition to manage them. The committee rejected 70 institutions because they did not adhere to the 2019 requirements for college recognition. The high court was not justified in ordering a CBI investigation into the affairs of every single nursing institution in the state starting in 2017 according to the counsel representing the college, which was cleared by the panel. “Release a notification with a November 29, 2022, return date. The impact and operation of the contested judgement or order shall be suspended pending further consideration “the Supreme Court mandated.
