The original record of a girl who obtained a score of 0 in this year’s National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical colleges has been requested by the Madhya Pradesh High Court from the National Testing Agency. The order was given on Tuesday in response to a petition submitted by Lipakshi Patidar, a 19-year-old inhabitant of the Agar-Malwa area, before Justice Subodh Abhyankar of the Indore bench. The court approved the union government’s attorney’s request for one week to deliver the original record, setting the next hearing for September 30.

According to the petitioner’s attorney Dharmendra Chelawat, Patidar successfully responded to 161 of 200 objective questions in the NEET exam that was administered on July 17. She was astonished to learn she had no marks when the results were announced on September 7, he claimed. The attorney claimed that the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) response sheet that was emailed to her was empty. The lawyer said that Patidar had received more than 80% of the possible points in her class 10 and 12 exams and that she believed her OMR sheet had been tampered with.
