At IInvenTiv, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur will present 12 resource and development initiatives that span several industries. The exhibition will take place on October 14 and 15, 2022.

IInvenTiv, an inaugural two-day fair, will bring together representatives from all 23 IITs in India with the goal of offering an annual venue for showcasing significant initiatives. There are 75 projects total in the event, six of which are highlight projects with various themes. It aims to increase the number of research and development collaboration projects between state universities, institutes, and IITs. Dharmendra Pradhan, the minister of education, will be the main guest during the opening session. Representatives from the sector, as well as from a number of educational and governmental institutions, will attend the event. The event’s projects are from IIT Kanpur, which will also direct the drone technology exhibition. The drone technology exhibition will be moderated by the IIT Kanpur aeronautical engineering department.

This showcase emphasises the institute’s works in the domain and highlights their expertise in all three UAV types – fixed-wing drones, flapping-wing drones, and unmanned rotor-wing and helicopter drones.

The institution will also collaborate with IIT Madras to give a combined presentation on 5G technologies. IIT Kanpur researchers have created a Baseband Unit (BBU) 5G base station as part of a multi-IIT project supported by the Indian Department of Telecommunications. The exhibition will highlight the main issues with India’s 5G deployment. The most significant number of patent applications ever made by IIT Kanpur was 107 in 2021. TacVibes, a watch for the blind, Bhu-Parikshak, a device to assess rotten health in under 90 seconds, and a quick water quality probe that can identify water quality are just a few of the 12 crucial projects that will be highlighted.

Abhay Karandikar, the director of IIT Kanpur, stated: “Critical R and D across sectors is essential as India races towards the Amrit Kaal. When it comes to national as well as local research and innovation, we at IIT Kanpur have always taken a proactive stance. We’re excited to spearhead the drone and 5G technology displays at IInvenTiv and present twelve of our projects. The event, in my opinion, would highlight India’s potential for international R and D and would bring business and academia together to foster faster sector-specific collaborative growth.
