IIT Guwahati showcases innovations at the R&D fair at IIT Delhi

The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) has showcased its research and development projects and inventions at the current IITs Research and Development (R&D) fair in New Delhi. In order to bring together significant stakeholders from business, academia, and governmental organizations for collaboration, education, idea sharing, and innovation, IIT Delhi is hosting the first R&D expo of its kind, dubbed “IInven Tiv.”

According to a statement issued by IITG on Saturday, the organisation displayed its top projects at the exhibition and engaged in discussions with important figures from the public sector, private sector, and academic community. Among the technologies on show were inexpensive prosthetic limbs, biodegradable polymers, eco-friendly burners, low-cost indigenous fluorometers, tools for visualising latent fingerprints, pathogen sensors, diagnosis kits, and optoelectronic devices, according to the statement.

The IITG Director, TG Sitharam, stated that the commercialization of follow-ups in these fields will be aided by the presentation of exemplary inventions from the institute. He continued, “I think that IITG’s astute research and development methods will further boost the industry-academia collaboration for a sustainable society. The R&D fair aims to improve how the IIT ecosystem is seen by the general public, and ten overarching topics have been identified. According to the press announcement, these include clean energy and renewables (including hydrogen and EV), environment and sustainability (including air, water, and rivers), healthcare (including devices and digital health), and defence and aerospace.

According to the press release, it also encompasses manufacturing, blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies (including quantum computing), smart infrastructure and cities (including smart mobility), communication technologies (including 5G for education), robotics, sensors and actuators, semiconductors, flexible electronics, and nanotechnology.
