Students will have access to possibilities for skill development thanks to a partnership between the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The collaboration includes developing students’ abilities to design, conceptualize, and market training.
This initiative’s major goal is to achieve the National Education Policy 2020’s main goal, which is to foster academic and vocational development among other things.
The programme will assist students in setting up and creating degree programmes with embedded apprenticeships that are connected to the market. The programmes include integrating a variety of skills across the curriculum to improve employability and industry ties.
By incorporating English for the development of soft skills and entrepreneurship modules that combine IGNOU programmes with a degree apprenticeship backed by placements, the programme also strives to address market requirements. An agreement has been inked by NDSC and IGNOU. “NSDC’s competence in terms of skilling framework [The National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF)] would be of enormous help in creating the programmes with IGNOU’s programme content,” stated Nageshwar Rao, vice chancellor of IGNOU.
