The NTA has declared the dates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2023) and started the registration procedure on December 15 via the jeemain.nta.nic.in website. The engineering entrance exam is scheduled to take place in two phases in 2023, the first being in January and the second in April.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made significant alterations to their JEE Mains 2023 assessment. According to the informational handout, the requirement of obtaining 75% in the Class 12 exam to be eligible to undertake the NTA JEE Main 2023 exam is back in place. This was removed as a one-off due to the academic detriment caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Due to things gradually getting back to normal, the officials have decided to restore the requirements for JEE Main 2023 session 1, which will take place from January 24 to 31 and session 2 which will start from April 6 to 12, 2023. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has also proclaimed numerous modifications in the engineering entrance exam.
Prior to submitting the JEE Main application form 2023, applicants should be familiar with the updated regulations. Listed below are the modifications that test-takers must be aware of.
75% criteria – Admission to BE, BTech, BArch, BPlanning courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board will be determined by All India Rank, with the stipulation that the candidate must have obtained at least 75% marks in their Class 12 exam from any recognised board. For SC and ST applicants, the minimum requirement is 65% in their Class 12 or qualifying examination.
The number of exam cities decreased – The number of JEE Main 2023 exam cities in India has gone down to 399, a decrease from the 514 cities in the previous year. On the other hand, the amount of cities abroad that are hosting the exam has risen to 24, up from 13 cities the past year.
Increase in JEE Main 2023 registration fees – The National Testing Agency has raised the registration fees for male applicants from Rs 650 to Rs 1,000 while female applicants will have to pay Rs 800. Before, individuals belonging to the SC, ST, PwD, and transgender categories were only required to pay Rs 325, but now, these categories are mandated to pay Rs 500 in order to take the BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlanning exams.
The application fee for JEE Main 2023 applicants from outside India has gone up. Male candidates will have to pay Rs 5,000 while females will have to pay Rs 4,000. This is a hike from the previous fee structure of Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500 for males and females respectively.
Mandatory parents details – For the JEE Main application form 2023, providing the email address and phone number of the parent or guardian is now a requirement. Previously, this was not obligatory, but now it is necessary in order to finalize the JEE Main registration.
One application – NTA JEE exam dates notification 2023 has stated that applicants for the JEE Mains 2023 will only be able to register for one session at a time. For the first session, only Session 1 will be available for selection, and for the next session, only Session 2 will be accessible to choose from.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) warned that anyone who submits multiple applications will face repercussions, even if it isn’t discovered until a later date.
