Young undergraduates enrolled in ayurvedic colleges around the nation can apply for research fellowships from the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences. Undergraduate students’ research ideas are intended to be supported by the Studentship Programme for Ayurveda Research and Knowledge (SPARK). The SPARK application process will only be available online at www.spark.ccras.nic.in. “The SPARK Portal will be where interested candidates must submit their research proposals.” Renowned reviewers and experts will judge the suggestions. A total of Rs 50,000 in financial assistance would be made available to the chosen fellows as part of the fellowship. There would initially be 100 seats available per session, according to Dr. Adarsh Kumar, Assistant Director (Ayurveda), Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).
Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary in the Ayush Ministry, praised CCRAS’s efforts “Especially during the COVID pandemic, CCRAS has recently made a number of praiseworthy moves. The Council not only created well-known formulations like Ayush-64, but it also has up to 18 formulations and technologies to its name.” In the realm of traditional medicine, he added, “I am convinced that SPARK produced by the Council will encourage the culture of evidence-based scientific research and support the unique ideas of young students.”
Director General of CCRAS Rabinarayan Acharya stated that the Council has created and carried out a vast array of programmes and plans to benefit the population. “The Council has expedited excellent research activities in the disciplines of Ayurveda and allied sciences by forging important connections with leading academic research institutions inside and outside of the country,” he said. He added that the Council is now engaged in a number of research and development projects with the World Health Organization, Germany, Romania, Israel, the United States, and Canada (WHO).
